The Women of the Year 2024 in Monaco
Among the many candidates selected by the committee chaired by Cinzia Colman, Cordelia Schmid received from HSH Princess Stéphanie of Monaco the prestigious “Monte-Carlo Woman of the Year Prize” for her entire career. Cordelia Schmid, pioneer of computer vision, is a German computer scientist, already awarded the famous Körber Prize. She has significantly advanced the field of artificial intelligence, particularly visual recognition, and her dedication to research has made her a key international scientist.
Then “The Monte-Carlo Woman of the Year Special Prize” was awarded to the research center of the European Commission for its unwavering support in the field of communications protection, thus ensuring the security of citizens. The recipients of the prize for the European Commission are Isabella Cerutti, scientific manager of the research center on 5G and 6G telecommunications, and Petra Scudo, technology expert also at the European Commission research center in Ispra, she is also a researcher and analyst technology in quantum physics.
To end the evening, it was with a certain emotion that Cinzia Colman presented Louisette Lévy-Soussan Azzoaglio with the "Monte-Carlo Woman of the Year Monaco Prize" for her invaluable contribution and her work since 2002 as president of " Action Innocence Monaco". This charitable association aims to protect children on the internet by creating content intended for children and adolescents as well as parents to support them in their digital practice.
